    PEA is a forum for professional editors that aims to promote partnerships with other editing and publishing groups, employers of editors, and allied professions including writers, designers and indexers.

    PEA is currently being restructured to meet the changing needs of all members and industry. The changes will affect membership classifications and subscriptions. Details will appear on this site when the new format is completed.

    WHAT ARE YOU WORTH?

    A great crowd turned out at Benledi in Glebe in September 2008 to tackle the question of professional rates for editors.
    There was plenty of food, wine and frank discussion about what we're worth and, as one attendee described it, 'no sitting around in cardigans and complaining'!
    With speakers from the MEAA and Media Super, as well as the author of the bi-annual Australian editors survey and the former chair of the IPEd Accreditation Board, the discussion covered a lot of ground - and even reached some consensus, including a recommended minimum rate for competent editors.
