PEA is declaring 2009 the Year of the Professional Editor. Why? The first accredited editors will be created in 2009, the conversation about standard rates will have begun, and PEA will roll out its innovative new Training on Demand model. What does it mean? While the declaration itself might be a little frivolous, we hope that it provides professional editors with a rallying point. Let's make it a year to further the cause of our professional standing, and to strengthen our networks with each other and with the wider publishing sector.
